Newbie Woes
I am trying to get a HP Pavilion with WIN95 running again. It was running well until a newbie tried to remove several programs by right clicking properties and going into programs and deleting them. After making several other feeble attempts to get it to work, he decided to reformat the hard drive and run recovery. It came up for a little while, but after he started scan, in tools and canceled it, the system reverted to safe mode, and doesn't seem to be able to leave it.
While in safe mode, I ran step by step (4) and it loaded everything up to the windows95 screen, then it reverted back to safe and this error message . "Warning" Windows did not finish loading on previous attempt, choose safe mode to start windows with minimum amount of drivers. Then this message flashed quickly across the top of the screen "error loading user.exe, then it says it’s safe to sign off. It seems to keep going in a loop.
