I have a Gateway Desktop System.

The monitor is a Gateway EV700 17 inch CRT.

Last night I went to turn it on an nothing happened.

I disconnected the cord and move the monitor to another power point and tried again - still no go.

The monitor has it's own power cord that plugs into the wall or circuit protection board - it does not have a power cord that comes from the box (like some systems).

It's not the cord because I tried it on the box and that powered up ok.

The good news is that I have an extended 3 year warranty that doesn't run out until January 2004

The bad new is that Gateway shipped out of Australia and I believe I'm no covered under the Asia-Pacific region - support being in Malaysia.

Reading through the warranty I get the impression that I'm now an 'International Customer' and as such would have to pay all shipping costs to get it to my closest support site

So, given the weight of the monitor I think that could be a very costly exercise and it would be cheaper to buy a new one.

I haven't contacted Gateway to confirm my situation yet, but inthe mean time is there anything simple I could check for such as a fuse.

I remember a few months back Reverend replaced a fuse but all sorts of warning about being fried were prevelant.
