Problem with uploads
I can't seem to be able to upload file larger than about 10KB. I have an external 56K modem and I have no problems downloading, but it just stalls on uploads.
I don't know at this point whether this is a problem with the modem (possibly), with the drivers (possibly), with the software (doubt it), or with the ISP (doubt it).
The uploads never start if it's not a miniscule file. When I send an attachement through email (POP3 or Yahoo) it is slower than it should be, but it goes through.
I don't think it is a problem with the ISP or the server that I am uploading to because I have been able to upload large files before (or from other sources).
I also doubt that it's a problem with the modem because I have no problem downloading, and though slow, I can upload in Linux (through sftp, scp).
In Windows XP I have tried SFTP (and scp2 through SSH Communications software) and regular ftp.
I am guessing that it might be the driver since I have chosen a Standard 56K modem (the real, signed driver wouldn't work).
Sorry for the long post, but does anyone have any idea on how I can troubleshoot this problem. Any ideas are more than welcomed.
Edit: A few more things that came to mind...
This is a Creative 56K DE5620-2 modem and there are no XP drivers from the creative site. If I use the XP supplied driver, I end up with this problem
As far as I could tell this modem is not listed in the HCL.
Error 633 is apparently caused by Palm Desktop and Synchronization Software which I do not have installed (don't even own a PDA), but does anyone know how I might be able to find out if a piece of software I do have installed might be causing the same problem?
