Im battling a problem connecting to any IP for a client
Consistently get Error 678 - The computer you are dialing into is not answering. It does dial & it does handshake.
She has a Conextant 56k Softmodem
All is fine in Device manager & the modem passes diags
I tried this on multiple IP's including my own which typically works fine
The phone number is correct as well as the settings in the connectoid & the networking applet
I have uninstalled & reinstalled DUN & the TCP/IP protocol.
Tried a new wall jack
Tried new phone cable
Plugged the modem straight into the wall bypassing the surge supressor
Did a selective startup (98) & didnt load the startup group applets
I suspect phone lines or modem.
Any thoughts?
