    Angry No mouse in SuSE

I am just started to use SuSE Pro 8.1 and I have hit my first problem. Turned my computer on this morning and the mouse doesn't work, every time it loads Linux YaST is displayed asking me to choose my mouse, its a optical USB.
I choose my mouse and it continues booting up, then when it gets into the graphical login and nothing the mouse cursor will not even move.

First I thought I was my mouse, but I tried another USB mouse, then a PS/2 mouse and finally even a serial mouse, but still nothing.

    My system specs are
    IBM Personal Computer 300PL
    Intel Pentium II 400mhz
    384mb ram
    40gb hd

PLEASE can someone help me as I really like to look of SuSE.
thank you very much!! in advance.
    Yuri.

BTW - sorry if my post is a bit confusing, as my brain hurts now, after 4 hours try to get it to work.
