Install XP Over Bootleg Copy Thread
Limerick,
I was intrigued by the "uneasy" feeling you expressed over the "Install XP Over Bootleg Copy" post in the XP Forum. I run a site focused on XP and frequently receive e-mails that run along the same vein. Some are blatant requests for help with illegal activities that are immediately dismissed, while others are much more subtle and difficult to discern the intent of the writer.
I don't envy you the job of making the calls on whether a thread is locked or allowed to continue, but I do find it interesting that in other similar threads that have had a longer life, in the end it seems the majority of the responses tend to steer the poster away from the illegal aspect and toward a lawful resolution.
I certainly don't endorse any of the 'warez' type activities, either here, real life, or on my site and think it really comes down to a gut feeling of where a thread is headed. At any rate, my compliments to you and all the moderators for keeping things on track so that all may benefit from the collective knowledge.
Thanks for listening,
Jim / TEG
