How to reinstall WinXPPro I think I need to repair my OS. My CD is not bootable (don’t know why)

The problem that I am facing now is as follows:

Windows will close a my game when I am already in the middle of it for no apparent reason.

3-4 times I received a blue screen massage telling me that “Window had shutdown to prevent your computer from damage. If this is the first time you receive this massage restart your computer, if not try to uninstall any hard ware / software you have recently installed”
Rebooting (by pressing the reboot button) will solve the problem and this happened for few games at separate dates. No additional hardware was added.
Any suggestions??
