Remote Desktop over modem
I believe this is possible, but the one chance I've had to test this out it didn't work... mainly because of the weird setup my office phones have.
I would like to be able to avoid using pcAnywhere (or any similar program) by using only Windows XP components. I would like to connect to a Windows XP Professional computer directly with a modem. I would not be going through an ISP, but PC to PC. After establishing the connection, I would like to open a Remote Desktop session to control this PC.
I have done this in the past with RRAS and Terminal Services on Windows 2000 Server, but Windows XP is a much cheaper option. Technically, what I want to do should work... I just don't have a lab (or time) to test it. I was wondering if anyone out there has tried this or would like to try it to help me out.
