System Restore
Seeing as how I am fixing to do a format and reload because I have had ongoing problems I can't get resolved, and 98SE only saves the 5 newest versions of the registry, it got me to thinking. Yeah, I know wise guy, imagine that. Anyway, would it be possible to install the system restore feature of ME onto 98SE. This is the ONLY thing about Windows ME I can truly give a thumbs up to and would like to do this if there is a way. Man, I hate this--several hours of download time on dialup to download Windows and IE updates, patches, and security fixes. All this because of the w32.magistr trojan, of unknown origins, which Norton made a valiant effort to eliminate, but something in the registry got hosed. As a result, I am getting frequent Fatal Exception, Illegal OP, BSD's, system freezes, and other assorted errors. ZA, IE, and NAV don't work right, even though they have been reinstalled. This particular bug targets ZA and NAV. But most telling, is the fact I am getting more frequent stack overflow errors and system resources are out of whack--this alone tells me something is running in the background and trying to phone home that shouldn't be, despite the fact that none of the snooping around and diagnostics I have run shows nothing.

Ignore the liberal media. They do not report the news but their slanted infotainment version of it, and should be declared enemy combatants for willfully undercutting and sabotaging the ongoing war on terror. It's OK to disagree with the reason for the war, but sabotaging the effort is treason.
