problem changing cpu on ms-5184 board
I am working on a machine for a friend of mine...he has a pentium 233 mmx processor in it...the board is compatible with the amd k6-2 cpu up to 400 mhz I installed a 300 mhz k6-2 and set the jumpers to overclock at 350 mhz...computer boots and functions great with the exception he has 2 allegedly pc100 sticks of 64mb sdram in it that works fine under the pentium chip but when you boot with the amd it only shows the 1 "newer" stick of ram in bios and windows....if you take the newer chip out and try to boot with the older one in either socket it just beeps constantly no post no boot...could this chip be pc66 and therefore not compatible with the 100 mhz bus speed?? the chip does say pc100 on it but it is old...
