considering this Router:
Looking for a router and found this one being sold second hand and locally...
We're looking to share adsl with 3 pc's (not otherwise networked) and all 3 adsl ready.
I found the following in an article about the product (link to the site via "Features" below)...
Features
If you want to use your high speed Internet access with more than one computer, I'd recommend taking a look at SMC's Barricade 7004ABR.
SMC promotes the Barricade as an "all-in-one networking solution for home and small-business users." This broadband router (with built-in switch) features four ports and auto-senses whether your network is 10 or 100 Mbps. It has a built-in firewall, a four-port hub, a parallel port print server and an RS-232 COM port (for fail-over dial-up or modem connections). It is totally platform independent: Whether you run Windows, Mac, Linux, xBSD or Unix, all you require is a graphical Web browser to configure and monitor your connection. All standard Internet connections are supported, including xDSL, cable modem, ISDN and even dial-up via modem (which can also be used for fail-safe backup connections). Although the Barricade features four ports, it supports up to 253 computers when used with additional hubs.
Comments/insights on this particular product for the purposes outlined above, please!
TIA...
