i have a question, hope that someone could help me. i`ve installed red hat 7 on a cousin`s computer. everything went well with the install.
we had to fumble a little with the xwindows install, because his card as -well as the monitor- wasn`t in the list. we picked a generic of the same brand.

chip: mach 64 lt
monitor: compaq presario fp700

as i said the install went well, the only problem was that x windows, with gnome, didn`t showed a standard cursor, but a white rectangle.
but, all of a sudden, gnome refuses to load, the machine just hangs there, trying to do that for ever....
x windows works just fine, i can load sawfish or twm without the slightest trouble.
below there is a copy of a `startx > /tmp/x_trouble` i did -had to close the process by hitting `ctrl+alt+back`.
i really don`t what might be happening, gnome worked fine, but all of a sudden refused to load.
towards the end, there are some very cryptic error reports, any help is welcomed.
