Deleting Linux Partition
I had installed Redhat Linux on my Compaq Presario 1235 laptop, and kept it as a dual boot with Win98. Linux did not install properly even though I have tried multiple times. (It installed fine on my desktop machine). Each time I get to the graphical login screen, it just freezes. I have only been able to get into Linux once. But as soon as I restarted I was back to the freezing problem. Well, since I can't seem to figure out what is going wrong, I would like to delete the linux partition which is about half the drive. The only problem is, fdisk will not let me get rid of the partition. Can anyone tell me what utility I can use to delete the linux partition (besides going out and purchasing one like partition magic). Does Redhat provide any such utility like fdisk on their cds for linux partitions.
Secondly:
I had to reformat and install win98 on my desktop machine. Since then, I have lost my dual boot for linux. The only way I can get into linux is by using the linux boot disk that I created during installation. Being new to linux, can someone tell me how to get it back. By the way, I think that Redhat 7.1 (the version that I have), intalled linux with a boot selector different from the normal LILO boot screens that I have seen on other peoples machines. This one had a graphic screen with the redhat logo and DOS and LINUX text to choose from. This is the loader that I would like to get back. Ironically when I reformatted the laptop from above, I didn't lose the dual boot. (It figures right!). Well sorry so long. I appreciate any help. Thanks!!!!!
