Can i customise XP Scandisk like u can with Win98
A few Brain Teasers for ya'll...[/b] i'll number them for easy answering!
1. does CHKDSK make a "log" file?
2. and is there a "ini" file or simular so i can customise it? if so where are they located?
3. anyone know if there is a way of running CHKDSK from a shortcut so it could check all the drives/partitions at once with a switch like u'd in Win98 by adding "/n /a" after the target in the shortcut properties?
4. also is it safe to use Win98 Scandisk on XP (i have been using it in DOS) b'cuz i know how to customisable it and i get to sort-of see what its done? I can't get Win98 Scandisk to Run on XP tho!
i haven't been able to find a sulution to 1,2or3 as of yet... The only work around i've found is to forget about CHKDSK and just use Win98 Scandisk from on a Boot floppy that automatically runs and checks all drives... it does the job but surely the WinXP CHKDSK can't be that bad... or can it...
TIA, Regards
