SCANDISK Problem On DUALBOOT 98-2K - HELP!
Hello again, i never expected this problem,
having no problems in 2000 but when i run Scandisk in Win98 on Drive D (Drive D carries Win2000 install) it gives me errors and asks me if i wanna fix...i say NO b'cuz i think it might screw up the Win2000 install.....
Is this normal b'cuz of file incompatabilities or something? All drives are FAT32!
if this is normal and i have to do a HARD SHUTDOWN in Win98, then when it runs scandisk at boot i think it will mess up Win2000, am i right?
Should i always boot to Win2000 after Hard shutdown and run scandisk from there?
also should i disable AutoRunning scandisk at boot (just incase)
When i done this HARDSHUTDOWN i booted to Win2000 straight after and it did not have its own Auto Scandisk boot, could it be disabled or does it not have that feature?
whats the procedure if i done a HARD SHUTDOWN in Win2000, would scandisk run then or would i have to do it manually, is that the way it works?
any ideas on this matter? as i havent had Win2000 to long and am still learning and overcoming all these obsticals.
.....or perhaps there is a way of tweaking the Win98 automatically Run Scandisk (after HardShutdown) so that it runs as normal on all Drives except Win2000 (Drive D)....i think this may solve the prob....
.....or maybe a quick thought: copy the Win2000 Scandisk over to Win98, just throwing a few ideas in to get your thoughts going.
...but i need your advice first so i know wether this is nessesary or maybe there is a better way.
TIA
