Quick restore, Trojan Seeker, all kinds of problems!
Warning: I need a buncha help and I'm not sure why!
Basically, my pc has been running very poorly and I've been experiencing a variety of problems. It started with my printer. I have a Compaq Presario 5140 and a Canon BJC-250 printer. All of sudden I lost my LPT1 port and experienced problems reinstalling drivers for that and other ports. I needed a Windows 98 CD ROM. I fixed those problems (hopefully). I noticed when I tried to just use the Quick Restore, it wouldn't load. The screen would flash up then disappear. When I restart the computer, it flashes "PLEASE INSERT QUICK RESTORE CD" but it's already there! I downloaded a virus scan, and it says my pc is infected with Popups and Trojan.Seeker. To fix these problems I dled McAfee Utilities, but even those programs seem to fail me! I don't know what to do in order to fix these problems or why I even experienced them in the first place! Could it be the virus or the popups? Is my system eternally messed up?! Someone please take the time to help me, I'd be very grateful. Thanks for taking all this time to read this post!! I'd really appreciate any response! Thanks again!
