Weird connection problem
Ok guys and gals. This is a new one for me. I got my new machine up and running now including the network. Everythings terrific hardware wise. But (you knew there had to be a but....)
My dial up to my ISP works correctly and connects at my usual 49,333 however no apps can see it. When I first boot up, just before Win98 completes loading, I get a popup error window headed:

POPROXY
Norton anti-virus is unable to start eMail
protection. Please ensure that TCP/IP is
installed and port 110 is available.

Once windoze completes I have full network function, TCP/IP is installed, I have no errors in the system list and Si-soft Sandra shows nothing irregular in the network or ports, etc.
Once I dial up and connect to my ISP and launch any app (IE, Netscape, FTP, Norton Update) there is no connection whatsoever.
I have no IRQ conflicts and no brain left after 5 hours of checking and re-checking.
I know it's going to be something really simple but I'm afraid I've run my course and created a dull mind here. What do you all think?
Thanks, the Griffin
PS: Everything worked fine until the network was up and running. The same network I had with my previous machine.
