Does a SSD compute faster than a 7200 RPM HD?
I’m looking at this ASUS laptop for mainly PhotoShop and Lightroom with plug-ins: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...e_windows.html
I know the SSD boots much faster but does the SSD also compute faster than a 7200 rpm hard drive? The main reason I want a SSD is to speed up my editing time. A photo club member told me it only helps with boot times, it won’t speed computing (or photo & video) editing time.
On PC World I’ve read a benchmark article that SSD upgrades deliver huge performance gains so I think I received some bad advice: http://www.pcworld.com/article/20481...nce-gains.html.
I realize I'll have to use my WD portable 2TB external for most of my storage.
Thanks for any feedback,
Mike
