Resolved [RESOLVED] New Seasgate external HDD

Got a replacement Seagate 1TB external HD to replace the one I was using for backups. Attempted to format it by opening Computer icon on my desktop but the drive is not recognized. Used 2 different USB ports to no avail so I used Disk Management and used the "long" format(took about 26 hours) and now this drive in shown in Disk Management per this attached image . I don't know what I did to cause such results but just as important, what do I do to correct this problem? I thought about deleting the drive and start over but I should get your input first. I can't make a backup of Win 7 on my Compaq without the drive to capture the backup. Probably won't format a drive again using the "long" format proceedure even though I don't see that that would made a difference.
