I have a wireless router connected to a DSL modem and the internet. I have a wireless Access Point downstairs to which I have the TV and DVD player connected to allow wifi access to the router and ultimately Netflix. I am planning on buying a Silcon Dust HDHomerun Prime (Cable card TV tuner) to connect via cat5e cable to the wireless access point. I am going to connect a HTPC via cat5e cable to the same wireless access point.

My question is how does the vidoe stream from the HDHomerun route to the HTPC over the network. Since both are connected to the wireless access point via cat5e cable, does the network traffic between the two devices take place only through the access point - effectively all hard wire. Or, does the traffic go from the HDHomerun to the access point, wifi to the router, wifi back from router to access point and then to HTPC?

Thanks for your help for this network noob.
