Eudora 7 - mailbox size a problem
I have found a problem with Eudora 7 (which Qualcomm had abandoned altogether). I am using it on XP (Home) SP3 [and planning to switch the e-mail client to something more suitable]...
Problem is that last week, a big chunk of the mails (dated since Feb 2009 to May 10, 2010) in the In-Box disappeared (and I have many other mailboxes set up as well, which so far I detected no problem).
And today, I searched inside the Eudora directory where all my mailboxes (*.mbx, and *.toc) are located (except for attachments which I have them stored some places else methodically), I have found something strange about my Inbox.
There are 3 sets of files called In.mbx, In.toc (in pairs) like this:
- In.mbx 12960 KB Date Modified: May 15, 2010
- In.toc 324 KB Date Modified: May 15, 2010
- In.mbx.001 123,845 KB Date Modified: May 10, 2010 (###)
- In.toc.001 321 KB Date Modified: May 10, 2010 (###)
- In.mbx.002 131,804 KB Date Modified: Jan 21, 2010 (&&&)
- In.toc.002 1679 KB Date Modified: Jan 21, 2010 (&&&)
### is the date when my chunk of recent mails disappeared.
&&& mails inside these files are shown when I open Eudora, and so are those inside the pair of files, In.mbx and In.toc.
I suspect Eudora is not incorporating the set of files of In.mbx.001 and In.toc.001 to let me read them.
Anyone with this problem before, and how do I incorporate In.mbx.001 and In.toc.001 so that the mails inside these files appear again.
== BTW, I have stopped experimenting with POCOMAIL (on file sizes/number of mail supported) before I solve this problem (because I cannot afford to lose my 'current**' mails. 'current**' means within the past 12-months.
I need help from all you experts here.
