Hi to all: Trying to get a card reader to reader when source disk is inserted. When the media is inserted, the on light acknowledging presence of the media comes on, green. However, in My Computer the drive does not show; when interrogated each icon asks for a disk to be inserted. Too, when rebooting the system with the media inserted, the computer will hang, not complete the boot. The XP Home system was recently restored, cleaned down to the bone, and drivers inserted. Could it be that maybe a driver for the card reader was not installed. Have to note that nothing in Device Manager indicates the absence of a driver for the card reader.
