XP Pro sharing folder and username and password synchronization
I came across this scenario (friend office) he has and XP Prof desktop (acting similar to a simple server ,,,,,he can not afford to have win server) which has two hard disk drives one to be used for saving files from different users who are employees (using their laptops) and the second drive for backup.
There are many folders (work, bills, faxes, maintenance,,,,,etc) were created on XP C drive to be shared for the below different usersnames :
operator, accountant, secretary, bms, bookeapers,,,,,etc.
Folders have different permission for different users,,,,and are mapped to their laptops
Of course same usersnames with same password for each username were created on the XP Prof desktop.
1- Now my question when a user would like to change his/her password on his/her laptop,,,,can that be synchronized with XP Prof desktop, in order to loose his network drive mapping ?
2- When a username and a password was created for each employee on the XP Prof desktop,,,,,does that mean that each employee would be able access the XP Prof desktop if he/she has a physical access to a desktop ?
