Foreword to the mods: This post is an introduction to a product (not mine) which I work with in my repair lab. I am recommending it to all VDr users, but since it costs money, I don't want to break any rules. I'll give details of the product without mentioning the name. Anyone interested can contact me personally. Hope that's within the rules. If not, let me know.

The product...
This product or tool will fix a windows XP operating system that has become corrupt. What it does is replace corrupt files with a healthy file, fixing the operating system. It works similarly to a windows repair installation, only it does not effect anything around it. There will be no need to update windows again, or reinstall a service pack. It simply replaces the corrupt files. It refreshes the operating system, speeding it up as if the installation was new.

Background
I came upon this tool after befriending someone who worked in the company that developed it. I didn't know he did this at the time, and he offered me to become a beta tester. I took the plunge. I have to say that in the beginning, it worked terribly. I had 0% success rate in fixing my problems. Even after the product went out of Beta and became official, I wasn't too impressed with it's performance. But over time, I have seen the product develop (it started out by fixing a computer through an ActiveX on IE, now it's a stand alone program) and I now use it regularly with a very high rate of success.

The advantage of using this tool for me is twofold.
Firstly, it works and it works fast. It takes an average of about 30 minutes and it is automatic. It scans the computer for problems, fixes them, automatically restarts, and that's it, your done. Computer is back to normal.

Secondly, as I only install legal versions of Windows, it has saved me many times when customers with an illegal operating system have had serious OS problems. I can't do a repair installation or format it so this is a great alternative. It allows me to fix illegal operating systems without breaking any laws or having to turn down customers who aren't willing to buy an OS.

Some of the issues it has fixed for me in the past are:
1. OS restarting itself over and over before it reaches the desktop (BSOD)
2. Viruses that have damaged important files
3. Viruses that disabled certain features of Windows, such as task manager, regedit, Folder Options etc.
4. Unfixable sound issues
...and many more things.

I highly recommend this product to all technicians, but it's so simple to use that even non-technicians can easily use it.

If anyone has any questions, you can write here. If you are interested purchasing the product, please send me an IM.
