[RESOLVED] remote assistance and DNS could not be resolved
My friend on the other side of town uses the same IP service as I do (Shaw) and her PC is XP and my computer is also XP , in trying to use Remote assistance to link together, we have already established that
1. she can access the internet
2. her outlook express works as her emails can be sent and received.
When we created the ticket ' RAinvitation' and set that ticket on her desktop to be attached via outlook express with a 24 hour hour window and a 5 digit password., I am attempting to establish the link between our computers get the message: 'A remote Assistance conection could not be established becasue the DNS name of the remote computer could not be resolved.'
She is not on a router and neither am I. we both use Cable modem with the same provider ( @shaw ) ..
What can I do with that ticket to get linked?
My ip address starts with 70.68.xxx.xxx
and hers is totally differant .- 24.83.xx.xx ????????
googling DNS doesn't help me in (re) laymans language..
any help??
