Recommend any tyres for my Honda anyone?
I know there are a few motor enthusiasts here, so thought why not.....
My old man (said follow the van!) told me moons ago to get Avon tyres to replace my Michelins as they were 1/2 the price and just as good.
Well, having replaced the front pair 3 times now, I wonder if the Michelin's were the cheaper option, as I've still got them on my rear and the tread is still good. I do realise it could be my cornering that is wearing the front tyres down (I tend to drive fast round corners!).
I've been offered Kleber Dynaxer HP tyres (owned by Michelin apparantly) for near enough the same price as the Avons (£72 each inc VAT). He reckoned these tyres are on newly manufactured BMW 5 series (which I thought used run-flat tyres, but who am I to argue!).
Am I being ripped off with these 'michelin' cheapos, should I stick with my Avons, or is there something around the same price range you would recommend.
PS - the car is a Honda Accord Sport 1.8 Vtec (2002). Current profile of tyre is 205/50/R16/87/W.
Cheers all,
TEk
