Hi, I have always loved these beautiful creatures and feel they have a sense of us. I grew up on Australia's east coast around Byron Bay my parents ran the caravan park in town. I grew up surf mad, one morning I was well out from shore all alone it was a winters morn and the surf was perfect, I was at least 500 metres from shore when a sharks body surfaced around 4 metres from my surfboard it was as big as a car I knew it was a great white and I was terrified. To my relief a pod of dolphins appeared and one came up so close I could touch it. Now I do not know, there was no communication however I knew the Dolphin was trying to protect me. I felt I should take the next wave, I did and the Dolphins did also, the wave finished in deeper water about 100 metres from shore the Dolhins stayed with me while I paddled to shore. There is something about them you cannot help but like , now this amazing story:-
