My friend is using Internet Explorer Version 6. And out of a sudden, he lost the bar which allows him to enter an URL, and also the little downward pointing arrow which when clicked shows all the 10 to 15 website URL he entered manually (not through search via Google or using the History).

Questions:
A. How can he get back that 'bar'. I have tried Tools, and I got bit
confused with all the options available. I am afraid to delete all
his Favorites and History by accident.
B. If he cannot get this 'bar' back, can he go to upgrade his Internet
Explorer to Version 7 or later version, and still BE ABLE TO KEEP
HIS FAVORITE AND HISTORY (ie. the upgrade does not remove
them), and How... parameters, etc.
