[32] Restart/Shutdown Issue

This problem is becoming very annoying and for last few months can't find a solution. Vista likes to hang on most restarts and has happened a few times on shutdown. But its not a normal hang like a program or driver. It hangs after Windows seems to restart/shutdown completely. It goes through the normal routine saves settings etc. Monitor screen goes black. I hear a click coming from the tower then nothing. This is where the system just hangs. Happens mostly on restarts but happened for the first time last night on a shut down. This is a new install of Vista that I installed last night after I managed to kill IE7 not sure how that happened . With its default driver for everything except for my lexmark printer.
