[RESOLVED] checker.exe with Guard ID Vault
I bought Guard ID Vault around Christmas, thought I'd give it a try. I'm having a lukewarm reaction. At any rate, I use it for financial sites, etc. Yesterday I was working, with it plugged in, message pops up there is a software update. So I allowed it to go through. Immediately after that ZA started giving me alerts that "checker.exe" is trying to access Internet and Trusted zones. I blocked it each time. I immediately checked Guardian ID and got the message "All software up to date" so there is no need for it to continue trying to communicate with the mother ship. I did a file search and checker.exe file is in Guardian ID folder. So I google checker.exe and looks like it could be associated with "Fourseman.c Worm". So then I launched AVG and scanned the folders that checker.exe is in (C:\Program Files\Guard ID System\ID Vault\Database as well as C:\Windows\Prefetch). Comes up no threats found.
Do you think I need to be concerned about this?
