Widows XP Home Start Up and Shut Down

I recently had a Trojan Virus (do not remember the name) I was able to get rid of it using Spy Doctor. I ran it three times until I made sure it was gone. I also ran McAfree and Trend Micro and all was good. What happen was this. When I start my machine it now come up with the window to put in my user name ansd password. I do use a password so I just click OK and it boots up and appears to be fine. Previously it just booted right up to my desk top (no eser name or password box) which is what I want to happen. How can I restore that?

When I go to Start Shut Down I use to get three buttons, one for log off, one for restart and one for shut down. I now have a drop down box to do this. How can I go back to the three button window?

I have attached a screen shot of the shut down screen but I cannot get a screen shot of the start up screen.

Thanks in advance for your help.
