A few months ago I used CleanSweep 95 on my Compaq Presario 7240, and Windows 95 (and probably some device drivers) was wiped clean off my computer. I now have a Master Boot Disk and a Windows 95 CD-Rom. This morning I put both in my computer. Several lines after getting the “Starting Windows 98” message, I started getting messages that the CD-Rom device driver was not installed/loaded. After aborting, I was routed to SmartDrive. SmartDrive routed me to an A:\ prompt, and I typed d:\setup.exe.

Scandisk started checking drive C. Setup initialized. I got the “Welcome to Windows 95 Setup” screen. The Windows 95 Setup Wizard initialized. I clicked “Yes” for the Software License Agreement. I then got the following message:

Warning SU0168

Your computer already has an operating system installed, which cannot be upgraded by this version of setup. Please obtain the Windows 95 upgrade.

After clicking okay, I got another A: prompt. What do I do at this point?
