Modem - Router Doesn't support port forwarding
Hi there
I have installed a remote desktop application on my PC at home so i can use it remotely from work(actually check out my downloads status!!)
I got the same application at work and the router here supports outbound port forwarding for this app-i've checked it out.We use it for our clients(it's a tech support department-yeah that's right i'm new
)
Anyway whenever i try i get this error that i can't connect.
I've found out that since my ADSL modem is also a router i have to enable port forwarding for the specific port and application.I looked through my modem configuration but i can't seem to find that option.(a rather poor device i'd say-but it came for free with the internet connection)
I've heard that in that case i should use Hamachi which is free software for such issues.I downloaded the stuff installed it but never used it yet since it's tottaly new for me.
I wonder if u guys have any other ideas or tips about Hamachi or whatever
Thanks in advance
Have a nice day
