Just trying to rename a PC on my network. Basically, I want to rename a pc called y-1 to e-5. e-5 used to be in use on the network but pc removed.

I've removed the old e-5 entry from Active Directory ready to rename it but still not working.

On investigation when I switch on a pc that is numbered e-17, e-5 can be pinged. If I do a tracert on e-5 its going through e-17. Therefore, when I switch e-17 off, I can no longer ping e-5.

Hope all this makes sense. I'm not quite sure how best to get around this.
