Sony VAIO desktop wrong CPU speed???
This is the desktop model PCV-RZ22G 2.4ghz P4 512 megs ram XP Home ED Sony DVD burner and ASUS cd-rom. The bios shows this cpu running at 1800mhz and no way to change it. If I right click on "my computer," Windows indicates that it is a 2.4 MHZ Pentium 4 but shows actual speed as 1.80mhz, which matches the bios setting. I thought Intel Cpus ran at actual speed, whereas the AMD cpus use an equivalent speed rating and actually run slower than that. Any Sony experts out there?
