Before I go out and look for a gfx card I was checking to see if I could disable my integrated card with jumper settings, but this mobo controls that through the BIOS. Since the VGA port is obviously destroyed I have no display. Again the motherboard is an ASUS P4V533-MX. The documentation I have doesn’t mention whether the AGP slot overrides the onboard VGA or not, getting a PCI video card would also be a possibility if that is more likely to override the onboard. The mother board is PnP enabled so I’m thinking I can just plug in the card and monitor and get a display, then manually make sure the integrated VGA is disabled so there is no future problems. Am I ok with that thought process? If that doesn’t work, I’d have to go blindly fishing through the BIOS without a display? Not sure what situations these companies think of before making a mobo, I assume this would be a rather common thought and thus the card with easily override the integrated one. If there are any sites that give more detailed information on the actual mobo than the manual that’d be helpful for future reference. I found that one of the computers here has a geforce mx4000 in it already so I’m gonna pop that out and test if it works.
