hi,
not sure which place this thread best belongs but i think this might be the right place. i not so long ago got a new motherboard, Asus P5WD2 Premium, with "Dual Gigabit LAN'. now i'm not that 'posh' and just use on of the ports of the internet. only problem is it seems to have a strange tendency to loose connection every so often. it is normally fine when just surfing the internet and even playing online games but when i download anything it has a habit of going. all i do is 'disable’ the LAN in networking settings and then 'Enable' straight after and that does the job for another 30-60 min. i have used the computer on a University network with internet through 10MB LAN at home with a ADSL router and it happens with both. so any idea's as to whets the problem and how to solve it.

P.S. here's a little more info about the board;

"Dual Gigabit LAN
The integrated dual Gigabit LAN design allows a PC to serve as a network gateway for managing traffic between two separate networks. This capability ensures rapid transfer of data from WAN to LAN without any added arbitration or latency. No more bottleneck to handle large amounts of data such as video, audio, and voice.
