Exclamation Packard Bell USB Web Cam (PB WC100)

Hi all, its my first ever post - I have registered in desperation lol

I have a Packard Bell USB Web Cam, was working fine the other day, I unplugged it from the USB and its never worked since!

I have uninstalled it, reinstalled it with the new driver disk rebooted etc and got confirmation from the pc that installation successful.

When I test the webcam settings I get an error message stating :

" You cannot change your camera settings because either your camera is not plugged in to your computer or you are using it in a video conversation or with another program"

The cam is def plugged into the USB, i have even tried a different USB port, the green light is on the cam so I know its working, I don't have any other program open that would use cam (trying to use it through msn messenger) and i'm not in any video conversations.

I'm at a complete loss what to do and can't get it to work at all. I'm using Microsoft Windows XP Media Centre Edition.

Any help would be gratefully received!

    Cheers.

Hi womblecity welcome to Virtual Dr.
Check device manager to see if the USB hub is showing any conflicts when the camera is installed and also check the event viewer via admin tools for any recent error messages that may relate to the device.
Do you have another system to recheck the camera is not at fault?
