I actually know what it was. (typo was an accident)
Was thinking maybe when Reverend tried to explain it he might actually do a search, pardon the pun, and find the answer to this common problem.

liam858--Do you think it best to use CWShredder before having tried the various other programs on the sticky link I provided?
Neither Quickbrowsersearch nor NewDotNet are listed as one of the malware programs to which CWS applies.

Jim - I thought CWShredder would be the first thing to try for this kind of thing just by instinct...should of checked it out in depth...cheers for the link....Trendmicro took over in June.
