How to load Debian-(no micro&soft on this one)

Has anyone made an autoloader that will load Debian 3.0r4 Woody to a freshly formatted hard drive, that will set up all the partitians, etc? This machine will ONLY have Linux, NO "ms infilthication".

I was reading about installing it, and got all confused in the talk about partitioning. Seemed the wording did not explain how to partition for linux, like how big to make them, or even how to do it.
If it is working fine with no conflicts, DON'T up-grade it, Leave it alone, and count your blessings!

If you are like me, sick of microsoft updates causing crashes, and making things quit working, inability to uninstall things, switch to Linux, where upgrades ARE backward compatable! Linux is FREE and Thousands of programs also are free for it!

you have the option to let debian automatically partition the drive for you. if you have nothing on your hard disk then this will be fine for you. just start the installation as normal and when you get to the partition setup there will be choices for auto or manual.

When I tried to install it, it did not bring up a manual or auto. It was more like a glossary. Then it said I didn't have the partitians and swap areas.

One reply said the v3.1r0, does that, I got the v3.0r4

did you buy the hard drive new or did you format a previously used hard drive? if so, what did you use to format and what file system did you format to. ie. fat32, ntfs, ext3 etc..?
also, are you new to linux? if so then debian may be a bit of a wrong choice. debian is designed for more advanced users. mandrake is aimed at new users. it is user friendly, so everything is explained while installing. also it partitions your hard drive for you. maybe you should try this out first.
