Does Me only support up to 137GB?
I just got a new 160GB HDD, which I've been having probs with in XP. Im thinking of just going back to ME, but have picked up some threads that ME can only recognise 137GB. I have also read various articles that say FDISK only recognizes 40GB, 80GB. I am capable of using FDISK, so with these questions answered, will make my judgements and partition accordingly (ie 1 Partition @ 135GB and one at 25GB.
Cheers.

You can follow these instructions to install the drive: http://www.largeharddrivesupport.win....com/winme.htm EDIT: Better link...this fix is ME compatible.

Umm is it just me or does the sentence
Note: This solution is NOT applicable for Windows 98 and Windows ME
right before step 1 mean that julwalsh can't follow that solution ?
I think if you partition the drive into smaller chunks eg 2 x 80Gb then WinMe will handle it correctly.
Other than that, use an ATA control card and attach the drive to it.
The Promise Ultra series are reliable.
