XP classic style rolls back upon reboot
Hi all,
I have a number of machines in my office that are tuned for performance and used solely to run a single application. I use a number of documented settings to prep each machine, and each has identical settings applied after a fresh install (most of the time).
1 machine keeps reverting from windows classic style to Win.. XP style after reboot (Display properties, appearance tab). I find this really strange, does anyone know why this may be????

I had the opposite problem a few days ago, there are a few possible fixes, you can download the MS Style http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm and reapply it incase it is corrupt, go to line 187 and download the Restore Windows Classic Fix, you could also insert your XP CD and go to Start|Run|sfc /scannow or there is a way to get the file from the disc through command prompt if it is needed, try the first 2 possible fixes first and then see if you need the command prompt instructions.

I tried both sfc /scannow and re-applying the XP tweak, to no avail. I wondered if there was a registry setting askew somewhere, but the strange thing is that there is no consistency in the rollback to XP style.
I tested like this:
sfc - restart = classic (still)
shutdown - bootup = XP style (rolledback)
Apply classic theme file - shutdown
Bootup = Classic (still)
Shutdown (believed fixed) ng morning) = XP style (rolled back again)
