Web connection MYSTERY
One morning I logged on to check my email, everything was fine then about an hour later I tried to connect and that's when I could not bring up any web pages. I could hear my modem dial and connect and that's when I could not access any web sites. I called Earthlink to see if there was a problem on there end, all attempts from there Tec support could not resolve the problem. I finally had to restore my system I had backed up with Norton Ghost, that's when everything came back to normal... This has me totally confused. I take all the necessary precautions keeping up with all of my updates etc. I considered myself about as protected against this type of problem as anyone could be and would have never expected this to happen...
Windows XP Professional, Norton Anti Virus 2005, Earthlink dialup service
Heard at a local auto-repair shop:
"I couldn't repair your brakes,
so I made your horn louder."

We could guess at this till we're blue in the face and never know for sure what the problem was. If it happens again.......
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

A problem like that is almost always on the ISP end, most likely after you went thru the restore they got the problem fixed on thier end & wah lah you were able to connect up. I have had that experience with my ISP more than once & all I did was give it some time & eventually was able to log in again. BJ
