Network cable unplugged.{Solved}
This problem just started a about a week ago. Im running XP Home on a fairly new Gateway computer. Im setup on a home network using an external wireless Nic card that plugs into USB made by Belkin. Ths setup has been working fine for quite awhile now but for about a week now whenever I do a cold boot I get the message that a network cable is unplugged. I found that I can go into network connections & disable it, the go back & enable it & then it works fine after that. However it is a pain in the neck to have to do that each time. Can someone tell me how to fix it? Thanks in advance. Sidewinder

That network cable unplugged message could be caused by one of the following:
1. The network card driver program isn't working right. Download and install the latest XP-compatible driver from the manufacturer's web site.
2. The network card is configured to automatically sense speed and duplex settings but isn't doing it correctly. Set those options manually, as shown here:

Update, well it looks like the new driver fixed it, shut down for awhile & booted up, no more message. Thanks again to all that helped. Sidewinder
