ecross--MS AntiSpyware has been updating definitions automatically (in the background) on my PC every few days. I now have definitions version 5727, which seems to be the latest version of the definitions per the geekzone article . Do you think the engine will also be automatically updated? I still have version 1.0.509.
I have had no notice from MS of an engine update, and if I go to the Antispyware download site
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/secu...e/default.mspx
I still am offered the old version.

Yep, got a popup today announcing the availability of the new version of Anti-spyware Beta and asking if I wished to install. I said yes. This occurred as a normal install and not behind-the-scenes as the "Definition" updates have so far.

Well, they must be rolling out the updates slowly. I still haven't received the new available through a popup on one of my main computers. You can download the refresh build directly from the Microsoft Download center. This is what I did.

I'm a bit baffled, I got asked if I wanted to install the latest version ans clicked Yes. But in Help>About, it's still showing an expiry date of 31st July. I went to File>Check for updates, and it reported that I had the latest software and definitions installed.
I'll go to the Download Centre.

Only four days after the version 1.0.613 update, I got a popup notice today that another Update was available. This time to 1.0.614. The update includes the latest definition files and is still valid until Dec. 31, 2005.
More info here.
