I just upgraded my Nero to version 6.6.0.12. I downloaded only the "Package 1".
Is it necessary to download the"Package 2" in order to have full functionality?

Well... to have full functionality with WHAT? The package 2 download contains some utilities not present at all in package 1, like NeroVision and Recode. Whether you need these things depends on your intended usage, but offhand, unless storage is a factor, why not just download everything, and use what you need, as opposed to finding out at an inopportune moment that you DO need something, but not have it available?

I always download everything when I update for fear that I'll later regret NOT doing it. The only thing I NEVER use from NERO is INCD, simply because I don't use ANY packet-writing software on my media.
