Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Mr. Common Sense.
Mr. Sense had been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such value lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm and that life isn't always fair.
Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not kids, are in charge).
His health began to rapidly deteriorate when well intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place - reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.
Mr. Sense declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer aspirin to a student; but, could not inform the parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.
Finally, Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense finally gave up the ghost after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot, she spilled some in her lap, and was awarded a huge settlement.
Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust, his wife, Discretion; his daughter Responsibility; and his son, Reason. He is survived by two stepbrothers; My Rights and Ima Whiner.
Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.
Are we rapidly reaching the day when no one will leave their house for fear of being sued by someone else.
In fact I think I might sue every one who smokes, drives a car, uses coal generated electricity, etc etc for contributing to the greenhouse effect thus attributing to the current drought situation in NSW Australia resulting in water restrictions which mean I can't was my car with a hose, and can only water my garden with a hose on 3 days a week.
Then there are those people with pets or more children than me that are breathing more than their fair share of air ???
How ridiculous can it get, think of it and I'm sure that someone has either tried it or will in the future.
Michael Jackson will probably win his case and sue everyone who has bought him to court and / or testified against him and in a wacky irony win and be awarded billions. You heard it here first on VDr.
That's great stuff Stewart & Nix. It's so true. I'm going to have to copy that for future use. lol
I hope your prediction is wrong. I'll be sick if he wins. I guess if you're filthy rich law doesn't apply to you. OJ Simpson is another example of how the rich & famous get away with murder. Literally!

In the news this morning. "Robert Blake postponed a golf outing with O.J. Simpson to give Barbara Walters an exclusive interview on Tuesday's Good Morning America." This is sick. What are they doing-comparing notes on how to murder your wife and get away with it. There's something wrong with are legal system in this country.
The true test of character is not how much we
know how to do, but how we behave when we don't know what to do
I'm going to stop reading the newspaper and watching the news altogether. I'll just live in my own little fantasy world. It'll be warm & cozy there. mmmmmmm.
lol - You're already in your own little world aren't you? I can't imagine either of them bowling. Drinking beer, eating nachos & pizza. Belching & whooping & hollering. They'd fit right in with the rest of the bowlers. (at least the ones I know)
what did terri shiavo do to deserve the death
penalty ???
the same crowd supporting this murder,
are also FOR NO DEATH PENALTY for convicted
murderers....because, " WELL,just what if we're
wrong,or something ? "
well what if ????? michael had allowed therapy, and her parents to care for her ??? IT'S ONLY BEEN A COURT ISSUE
BECAUSE HE MADE IT SO.
WHAT IS HE SO AFRAID OF !!!!!!!!!!!!
terri's mistake was
michael. and not getting away from him.
Yes I think the situation with Terri is a very serious one. My thoughts are that her parents should have more rights over thier daughters fate than her husband does. From the videos of her she was awake & not in a full coma, in that case of a full coma yes I would agree that it's wrong to prolong her life. I had a similar situation a few years back after my brother had surgery to remove a brain tumor, he never woke up after the surgery & was in a coma for about two weeks, the doctor said that there was little chance that he would wake up. My other brother & I was faced with the decision to have his life support removed & it was the most gut wrenching experience I have ever gone thru. It was a very tough call but the doc said in the small possibility that he would wake up he would be brain damaged & we knew he would not have wanted to be alive that way, BJ
