    Strange...Folder keeps reappearing.

I created a folder on my desktop and put some songs in it. When I was done using it I deleted it by dragging into the recycle bin and emptied the recycle bin. After rebooting, the folder reappeared. I tried right clicking and deleting that way. Same thing happens. I am not running GoBack or anything like that. The folder shows that it is empty. I have even emptied the recycle bin after deleting the folder. Very strange.

Thanks SuperSparks, I ran CHKDSK, it fixed an orphaned file and the folder does not return now.

    It's Baaack!!!!!!!!

After a week of peacefullness, the folder is back on my desktop. There is nothing in the folder. Just a plain old folder. I have tried renaming it and then deleting it but the old name keeps coming back when the folder reappears.

A question on Disk Cleanup. One of the options is to delete "Compress old files". Can I check this off safely?

    Have you run Chkdsk again?

Look in C:\ for a hidden folder names FOUND.00*
If you find it, it is because of errors CHKDSK has found. You can open those files with notepad to see what they say.

Also, check event veiwer for errors.

Also, it's possible that it is being recreated by an app that you're running. Does this folder reappear when you reboot the PC?

Can't find a found.00 file and when the folder appears it is after a rebooting, but not after every rebooting. It's been a couple of days now without the folderand multiple rebootings. I will post if it comes back. Last time it took about a week.

OK, its back again. It takes about a week before it appears. Again, it is just an empty folder with a name. I just don't get it.
