Win Me Update coming to a close in 2005

I understand that Microsoft will be pulling the plug on Win Me Updates in the summer of 2005. Is everyone going to load WIn XP Prof?

You're even more prone to hacker attacks using XP. Why "upgrade"?

Plus, I only turn on my modem when I want to connect to the web (although I know in theory it can take just minutes).

and once a day usually at the end before bed I run Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D, A-Squared and NAV 2002 scans.
