pest patrol
what do yall think of pest patrol? is it a good reliable effective tool? about:buster, cwshredder, adaware se, spybot, spyware guard, and psyware blaster. are these enough or should i try out pest patrol?
also what is a good program to clean my computer of junk and obsolete files?

MaFia JaK--There are many spyware detector/blocker tools out there. Here is a recent test on several.

Of the ones you mention, I would be careful using about:buster and CWShredder unless you know you have the problems they were designed to fix. CWS is also getting out of date, since the developer felt it had gotten to be too much work.
You should be sure to look into the Security and Privacy settings of Internet Explorer including using Restricted Sites (IESpyAds will make that easy for you

And you could consider having a HOSTS file.

I assume you have an antivirus program. And never open email from someone you do not know!!

Those results are depressing. 
Pestpatrol can come in handy for removing some nasty ones safely.
But as the article already pointed out, more than one is required.

thanx for the info. yes, i use avg6 free and run online scans regularly. i downloaded the hosts file awhile ago from here
i will look at those test results and find another one or two spyware proggies

the only time i use IE is to run windows update and to run an online virus scan, which i have the pages bookmarked so there is no surfing needed to be done
